Blame it on Tennis balls

Our office has organised cricket match for employees on 24 th december and 31 december i was not suppose to play any match on 24 th, my original team would be playing on decmber 31 . However due to shortage of people I did jump into the match as substitute . Played almost all the three matches .

First match i did part of substituing till the original player came to field for half an hour . Here i played only standing role as no ball was came to my end .When the orginal player came i was relieved from substitute services.

Second match , this time with new team i was asked to go for batting for last 4 balls (at non strikers end). I did run for the first ball and came back as non striker again as we took 2 runs. thast all about batting for me in this innings .

While doing the fielding for this game i was very much exited as the team i am paying for now had already scored good runs and opposite team need 10 runs per over to score . Now my big chance came in the match a player from opposition known for his good cricket abilities hit the ball straight towards me , i positioned myself correctly to catch that ball . When the ball came just near me , it swung away not a huge deviation but it went past me for boundary . i didnt understand. This hasnt happened usually with me i have often caught better catches I thought of forgetting this catch as even best players have dropped catches it happens once is acceptable and match continued

Few minutes later another ball came straight towards me from the same person ,this time around i positioned my self cleanly to catch the ball, and in a split second i dont have any idea what happened i dropped the ball it just went through my hands. Two times is okay happens sometimes it happens

Again few mintues later one more ball came toward me directly to cathes however landed in just front of me and was going toward boundary i intercepted the ball and threw back to bowler, i wonder weather this also people must have thought i dropped another catch. Every one started discussing only point of discusion was me . God where to run this way or that way captian of the team immediately posted me to a position where player dont hit that often . And this way it ended the match The team from the side i was playing won the match insipte of me dropping catches

Immediately ran for lunch after comming from lunch i heard another team needs one more player as subsitute well what the heck i accepted again , By this time around some of the player became extra smart they started to hit the ball towards me new captain was smart too , he immediately positined himself in my place in whenever this player used to come for batting and trick worked he took the catch ultimately the team from which side i was playing won

I tired to understand what had happened why did i drop catches only possible answer came to my mind was when ball is comming toward i get distracted for a sec or 2 , and when ball is in my hands it used to jump back . Then i realised i was never good at taking catches using tennis ball. Tennis ball just jumps out of my hand .

Good thing was that whichever team i played did won the match even thought i dropped few catches

Moral of the story: if indian team wants to win at international level keep saiprasad madhale as substitute fields man after all who care about dropping catches importing thing is that we should win the matches.

Indian marriage

Till now i have somehow tried to escape the questions many times from my relatives .
I thought friends or people around my age should understand , however they have also started to ask the same question as if the marriage is the only thing apart from education left in the world . Everyone wants to get married some day or the other after they find a right person .

Being an Indian Guy or girl is tough , @ 21 or 22 age people will start asking when are you going to get married and they also start looking for bride or groom . Instead of bride or groom , others members of the family are more interested in their marriage. They decide where to send them for honeymoon, when they should have their own child (whether boy or girl) . I know i am exaggerating a little about child

But there were times that also used to happen, maybe even now in some remote villages .

Marriage also has become more prestige issue in terms of dowries, functions for the marriages and thereafter for reception . Most of the time brides parent end up paying entire expenses of the marriages . I have heard if a guy is a software engineer from one particular part of india he would get minimum of 10 to 15 lakhs (1.5 million) rupees as dowries.

Concept of love marriages is still looked as bad in india amd if some one has done arranged marriage then he/she is the idle son/daughter . Engagements of Girls usually happens before they finish their graduations and they are married once they finish graduation .

Having said all this their are lot of advantages of having arranged marriages also like marriage failure in arranged marriage are less ore so because parent or family members gets involved in patching things between husband and wife , most of the time it works out however depends on the understanding of both husband and wife.

Hope this trend changes in near future .

Sachin Tendulkars 35th Century

There was another cyclone to hit chennai on saturday . The name given for this cyclone was fanoos dont know how that name came up to the mind of theperson who kept this name . It did hit however there wasnt any damages which we thought it would neither was it raining heavily like what happened last week with baaz. Enjoyed my saturday watching an old english movie "Gone with the wind" at home. Wish i could use saturday and sunday in chennai with more effectively apart from staying indoors with my PC.

Was trying to watch cricket match between India and srilanka for a while whever i used turn on the tv some player would be out an over before so i didnt see the match until end when sachin was on 83 and ganguly on 33 i switched on the tv. That time i thought well sachin is playing well today and morever that ganguly has crossed the 2 digit mark first time in so many matches . Ganguly must be enjoying in his dressing room

Congrats sachin for his 35th Hundred , he knows more than other that he truly deserve this 100 long time now . Sachin and Ganguly have performed well in this innings when sehwag is out of the match coz of throat infection . Hope this doesnt mean that next time they play well when sehwag again has throat infection :)

Worse Batting

Experience batting line up of India again showed worse batting performance against srilanka , good that the match was just for one and half day . Top scorer for india was Shewag @ 36 .Dhoni as always is showing his capabilities with bat . I would like to see his wicket keeping capabilities with harbajjan when ball turns and jumps around . Saurav is back to team but has done very little in this match , should be kept in team atleast for this series . Hope indian batsman click in remaining 2 matches.

Deadly friday

Was working in night shifts till 2:30 am on saturday , suddenly news came the my collegue was not comming to office as he was stuck at his house due to rains in chennai . To my bad luck i didnt get any transportation from my office to home due rains boss called me up and asked me to cover another shift :( damn!!. Went back home @ 10 am saturday and slept till 4:00 pm entire saturday was waste

However good news is after working for two months continuosly in night shift i am going back to day shift
